Zinule — that’s what they call a little bird from the forests of Bulambuli in Eastern Uganda, and also this arabica that smells like yellow fruit and tastes like barberry candy, yellow gooseberry, and cocoa. Grown at elevations of 1,600–2,000 meters, it undergoes washed processing that highlights its clean, vibrant flavor.
We source the beans in partnership with Ibero, a company that built a new washing station in 2022 specifically for the Bulambuli project. They work with hundreds of smallholder farmers who grow coffee on tiny plots — often less than a hectare.
By the way, this region shares a lot with Kenya — SL-14 and SL-28 varietals are cultivated here too, and thanks to the altitude and unique microclimate, the beans develop a distinct, recognizable character. Every stage — from harvest to drying — is handled with special care: the coffee is fermented slowly and dried under the supervision of experts to preserve its full range of flavor notes.
Uganda Bulambuli is all about precise work, quality raw material, and a flavor that invites exploration. It’s so magical that walking past without tasting it should honestly be a crime ;)
And don’t forget: when you buy 1 kg of coffee, you always get a great deal — a 5% discount is already included in the price.
