The first note of Peru Percy Guevara is a citrus aroma with hints of stone fruit. In the cup, you’ll taste red orange, ripe cherry, and brandy. The aftertaste carries a slight boozy tone with a pleasant acidity.
This coffee comes from the farm of Percy Guevara, located high in the Andes in the province of Jaén, Cajamarca region — one of Peru’s key coffee-growing areas. The conditions here are ideal: fertile soils, jungle surroundings, fresh mountain air, and a steady temperature of around 24 °C.
The washed processing was carried out at Chacra Coffee, a young producer that started in 2023. They work with small farms and are highly focused on quality and process transparency. Interestingly, “chacra” means “small farm” in the local language. But for the founders, this word goes much deeper — Chacra Coffee is about feeding and supporting the community it belongs to. They collaborate with a select group of coffee producers, mostly friends and neighbors, all united by a shared passion for the art of coffee cultivation.
