Rwanda Kivu — pure vibe. In the aroma — linden blossom and black mulberry. In the taste — a juicy mix of blackberry, mulberry, and lemongrass. The balance of acidity & bitterness is just right — that very moment when you keep thinking: “one more sip, please.”
High altitude, regular rains, volcanic soil, and a rich diversity of Bourbon varieties create perfect conditions for growing specialty Arabica. Around half a million smallholder farmers live here, and nearly every family grows coffee on their own tiny plots. Just imagine — every bean here has passed through the caring hands of people for whom coffee is not just a job, but a way of life.
Now let’s travel to the shores of Lake Kivu, home to the Kirambo washing station. Here, the cherries are washed, carefully sorted, and laid out in thin layers on African drying beds. For 30 days, the beans dry under the sun — turned every hour during the day, and covered at night to preserve perfect quality. It’s a meticulous process, but one that gives the beans their clean, rich, and distinct profile.
Rwanda Kivu is a sip of Rwandan sunshine you simply can’t confuse with anything else. It’s the taste of a country where every drop of rain, every ray of sun, and every farmer’s hand leaves its mark. It’s true morning sunshine in your cup.
