Burundi Busasa is a delightful lot originating from the Busasa processing station located in the Buhinyuza commune (Muyinga province) in northeastern Burundi. It's a hilly area with an average elevation of 1500-1800 meters above sea level with volcanic soil.

The coffee undergoes washed processing, resulting in a clean and distinct flavor that is impossible to overlook.

The Busasa station is owned and operated by Matsitsi Trading Coffee SU (MATRACO) - a company created by Zuberi Matsitsi in 2015. Its main goal is to produce and promote specialty coffee that can be sold on the international market. Zuberi Matsitsi owns over 7000 coffee trees and operates 3 processing stations in the Kayanza and Muyinga regions. MATRACO's lots were among the winners of the Cup of Excellence in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017. Busasa was constructed in 2014. Under the management of Daniel Sayumwe, the station employs 6 permanent and 150 seasonal workers. The station has a total of 151 African beds for drying beans and collaborates with 1600 farmers who supply coffee from the surrounding hills.
